Monthly Update (September 2026):
El Soberbio & Porto Soberbo remains a small Argentina-Brazil crossing linking Misiones with Rio Grande do Sul across the Uruguay River. No significant September closure or disruption has been identified. The crossing is more relevant to regional and tourism traffic than to the major international freight routes, so conditions can be relatively quiet outside weekends and holiday periods. Travelers should still allow time for the immigration and customs procedures on both sides.

About this crossing
Location and Basic Connections
El Soberbio sits on the Argentine bank of the Uruguay River in eastern Misiones. Porto Soberbo, on the Brazilian bank, is a very small settlement. From there, roads lead on to towns such as Três Passos and Tenente Portela, and towards Turvo State Park (Parque Estadual do Turvo).
Crossing Procedure
Complete Argentine immigration and customs at El Soberbio before you board, then buy the ferry ticket at the small booth by the landing. The fare is small. Cars cross on the same ferry as foot passengers. Citizens of Mercosur countries can travel with their national ID card; other travellers need a passport and any visa required for Brazil or Argentina.

Ferry Times and River Conditions
The ferry timetable is not reliably published online, and service can be affected by high water on the Uruguay River. Check the current times locally before you set off, especially after heavy rain.
Moconá Falls
El Soberbio is the usual base for visiting the Moconá Falls (Saltos del Moconá) in Moconá Provincial Park, about an hour away by road; the road into the park is a dead end, so you return the same way. On the Brazilian side, the falls (called Salto do Yucumã in Brazil) can be seen from Turvo State Park.
