Border Crossings Between Gibraltar and Spain

The border between Gibraltar and Spain is one of the shortest in Europe: a 1.2 km land frontier across the narrow isthmus that links the Rock of Gibraltar to the Spanish town of La Línea de la Concepción. It has a single crossing point, used every day by thousands of cross-border workers, residents and visitors.

Since 15 July 2026, when the UK–EU agreement on Gibraltar began to apply provisionally, the frontier has had no routine passport or customs checks. Passport checks for travellers arriving from outside the Schengen area now take place at Gibraltar's airport and port instead.
